QD2018, the Tenth International Conference on Quantum Dots

QD2018 is the Tenth International Conference on Quantum Dots, the leading conference on quantum dot research and it will be held in Toronto, Canada from 25-29 June 2018. QD2018 will gather 500 of the world’s leading quantum dot researchers from epitaxial, colloidal, and lateral quantum dot communities.

Topics will include:

  • Fundamentals – Quantum Dot Theory, Quantum Dot Spin, Analytical Techniques, Quantum Optics and Magneto-Optics, Quantum Dot Coherence, Exciton/Charge Carrier Dynamics.

Congratulations to prize winners at 16th Annual Meeting of Society of Nano Science and Technology

We are delighted to congratulate two prize winners from the 16th Annual Meeting of Society of Nano Science and Technology, organized by The Society of Nano Science and Technology, which was held at the University of Tokyo from 10 – 12th May, 2018.

Nanoscale Horizons prizes were awarded by Hiromitsu Urakami, RSC Manager in Japan, to two faculty members:

  • Professor Hiro Minamimoto (Hokkaido University) for his talk on: Higher-order Plasmon-induced Electron Transfer Reactions
  • Professor Shinobu Sato (Kyushu Institute of Technology) for  her talk on: DNA bundling using supramolecular interaction

Conference Promotion – GRAPCHINA 2017

Materials Horizons and Nanoscale Horizons are proud to be partnering with GRAPCHINA 2017, which takes place on 24 – 26 September 2017 at Nanjing International Exhibition Centre, China.

This International Graphene Global Innovation Conference has become a significant commercial and academic event that gathers approximately 2000 representatives for all stakeholders involved in graphene technologies, bringing top level speakers and delegates from the industries, NGOs and academia together with senior policy makers from the EU’s flagship program and national government.

Key speakers include:

  • Sir Andre Geim, Nobel Prize winner
  • Professor Yong Gan, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering
  • Professor Andrea C. Ferrari, Founding Director of the Cambridge Graphene Centre (and Associate Editor for Nanoscale)

The conference will be divided into three parallel symposia, focusing on different topics like graphene and 2D materials frontier research, graphene-related emerging industries, graphene application in traditional industries. The symposia cover areas of fundamental research, graphene manufacturing, energy application, health and environment, sensors and communication, composites application, etc. There will also be three special forums, aiming to push international collaboration, accelerate characterization and standardization method, and promote national graphene industry bases. Conference promotion – NFA 2017

Nanoscale Horizons is proud to support a poster prize at the 3rd International Conference on Nanomaterials: Fundamentals and Applications (NFA 2017). This meeting is organised by Pavol Jozef Šafárik University and Slovak Chemical Society, Bratislava and will take place in Štrbské Pleso, Slovakia, from October 09. – 11. 2017.

The following topics will be covered by a program of international speakers:
1. Nanomaterials, nanocomposites and nanostructured surfaces
2. Bioinspired and medical nanomaterials

ANNIC 2017

ANNIC 2017 the Applied Nanotechnology and Nanoscience International Conference will take place on 18 – 20 October at Rome Eventi – Piazza di Spagna in Rome. Prize Winners at PANIC nano Conference 2017

Congratulations to the Nanoscale Horizons Award winners from the PhoBiA Annual Nanophotonics International Conference (PANIC 2017)! This interdisciplinary conference aimed to gather young scientists working on the borders between chemistry, physics, and biology in order to help them to share their knowledge on photonoics, nanotechnology, biotechnology, materials science, and organic electronics.

 

The best oral presentation was awarded to Maciej Chrzanowski, for his talk on Synthesis of double shell type-II semiconductor nanocrystals for lasing applications.

The best poster presentation was awarded to Katarzyna Brach, for her poster describing DNA liquid crystals doped with AuAg nanoclusters.

 

 

 

Both winners will receive a free personal online subscription to Nanoscale for one year, as well as a signed certificate from the Executive Editor of Nanoscale Horizons.

2017 International Conference on Nanotechnology for Renewable Materials

ChinaNANO 2017 Conference

Nanoscale Horizons Symposium at ChinaNANO 2017

The 7th International Conference on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, China 2017 (ChinaNANO 2017) will be held in Beijing on 29 – 31 August, bringing together scientists from across the globe.

PhoBiA Annual Nanophotonics International Conference 2017

The Photonics and Bionanotechnology Association “PhoBiA” are inviting all young scientists and students to attend the 8th Edition of the PhoBiA Annual Nanophotonics International Conference “PANIC” which will take place from 24 – 26 April, 2017 in Wroclaw, Poland.

This meeting intends to gather students and young scientists working on the borders between chemistry, physics, and biology to enable them to share knowledge by presenting their work in a conference setting. A plenary lecture will take place each day, presented by a renowned scientist from the field of photonics, bio-, or nanotechnology.

Nanoscale Horizons is proud to sponsor student prizes for the best poster and the best oral presentation! The abstract submission deadline is only days away, so to be in with a chance of winning a signed certificate and one years free subscription to the journal Nanoscale, published by the Royal Society of Chemistry submit by 26 March!
