2nd Zing Nanocrystals Conference

Nanoscale Horizons is thrilled to be supporting the 2^nd Zing Nanocrystals Conference with a student poster prize including a certificate and free online subscription to one of Materials Horizons, Nanoscale, Journals of Materials Chemistry A, B or C (worth in excess of £1500).

The 2nd Nanocrystals Zing conference will be held in Dublin, Ireland, between 2^nd — 5^th August 2016. The conference seeks to bring together researchers interested in the synthesis, characterization and manipulation of nanocrystals, as well as nanocrystal-based devices.

Prize winners at PANIC 2016

Nanoscale Horizons is thrilled to congratulate two prize winners from PANIC 2016: PhoBiA Annual Nanophotonics International Conference, April, 18-20 2016 Wroclaw, Poland.

Karolina Smolarek, from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, received the Best Poster Prize for her poster on Enhanced luminescence of organic light-emitting diodes with metallic nanoparticles.

Lukasz Janasz, from Lodz University of Technology, received the Best Oral Presentation for his presentation on Ultrathin poly(3-hexylthiophene) films with controllable, nanofibrill morphology for application in organic, field-effect transistors.

Three dimensional nitrogen-doped graphene hydrogels with in situ deposited cobalt phosphate nanoclusters for efficient oxygen evolution in a neutral electrolyte

A hybrid electrode of cobalt phosphate (CoPi) on nitrogen doped graphene hydrogels was fabricated by hydrothermal treatment of graphene oxide followed by CoPi electrodeposited in situ, which showed excellent performance toward oxygen reaction in a neutral electrolyte.

Poster prize winners at IEEE NANO 2015

Many congratulations to Antonio Maffucci and Kyung Rok Kim for winning the Nanoscale Horizons poster prizes at IEEE NANO 2015.

Antonio, from the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, and Kyung Rok Kim, from Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, and their co-authors won prizes for their posters entitled “Carbon-Based Power Delivery Networks for Nanoscale ICs: Electrothermal Performance Analysis” and “FinHEMT: FinFET-based High Electron Mobility Transistor with Strained Silicon Channel”, respectively.

IEEE NANO 2015 took place from 27th to 30th July 2015 at the Angelicum Congress Centre, Rome, Italy. The conference is organised by the University of Tor Vergata and Sapienza University of Rome, and aims to provide an international forum for the exchange of technical information in a wide variety of branches of nanotechnology and nanoscience, through feature tutorials, workshops, and track sessions; plenary and invited talks from the world most renowned scientists and engineers; exhibition of software, hardware, equipment, materials, services and literature. Poster prize winners at the 10th Sino-US Symposium on Nanoscale Science and Technology

Many congratulations to Chuanbo Gao and Mengyu Yan for winning the Nanoscale and Nanoscale Horizons poster prizes at the 10th Sino-US Symposium on Nanoscale Science and Technology.

Chuanbo, from the Xi’An Jiaotong University, and Mengyu, from Wuhan University, won prizes for their posters entitled “Etching-free epitaxial growth of gold on silver nanostructures for high chemical stability and plasmonic activity” and “Vanadium oxide/graphene nanocomposite for advanced lithium battery”, respectively.

The 10th Sino-US Symposium on Nanoscale Science and Technology took place from 26th to 28th June 2015 at Wuhan University of Technology, China. The conference is organised by the Wuhan University of Technology, University of California, Los Angeles, and Wuhan University, and aims to provide a platform for scholars, experts, research institutes, and companies to share the latest research progress in nanoscience and technology research. This year’s event was the largest symposium ever held in the history of the Forum, with over 1,000 participants. Further details are available on the conference website.
