RSC launches Environmental Science: Nano journal

We are delighted to announce Environmental Science: Nano, a new peer-reviewed journal for high quality research on the interactions of biological and environmental systems with natural and engineered nanomaterials. Vicki Grassian, F. Wendell Miller Professor at the University of Iowa, USA, has been appointed Editor-in-Chief.

Announcing the launch, James Milne, Executive Director of RSC Publishing, said: “The interactions and consequences of nanomaterials in the natural environment are of interest to a diverse range of scientists. Environmental Science: Nano is the only journal dedicated to publishing the latest findings in this field and we are delighted to be able to support the community by giving them a dedicated platform for their research.

“RSC Publishing is renowned for its quality, service, speedy publication and ground-breaking technology. I am confident that authors and readers will embrace Environmental Science: Nano, helping the RSC to further advance excellence in the chemical sciences for the benefit of science and humanity.”

Research published in Environmental Science: Nano will examine how nanomaterials enter, migrate and undergo transformations as they move through various environmental and biological media or systems. More information about the journal’s scope can be found on the website.

The journal will shortly open for submissions via the website. The first issue will be published in late 2013.

UKSG 2013 – We hope you enjoyed the show!

It was great to see so many Librarians and Information Specialists in Bournemouth.

Unfortunately only one of you can take home the Kindle Fire, but I hope all booth visitors enjoyed finding out more about Gold for Gold and what we are doing about Open Access, as well as seeing the UK launch of The Merck Index* Online.

Material matters at 2013 MRS Spring Meeting

Thanks to everyone that stopped by our booth last week at the 2013 MRS Spring Meeting & Exhibit in San Francisco.

Pittcon 2013 – were you a winner?

Delegates met with staff, browsed our books and journals and enjoyed a free coffee

Scientists from around the globe descended on Philadelphia last week for Pittcon 2013 – and we were there too!

We had a range of top titles on display, including Analyst, Analytical Methods, Journal of Analytical Atomic Spectrometry (JAAS) and the flagship general chemistry journal, Chemical Science.
