This short review presents a strategy to design “off-on” magnetic probes. These ferrous chelates, initially low-spin and diamagnetic, are switched to the paramagnetic “on” state by an external chemical stimulus.

In their paper, they report a simple self-assembly technique to make supramolecular hybrid materials of graphene oxide with long-chain alkyl amines. These hybrid materials are easily dispersed in nonpolar organic solvents.
