RSC Endorses KBART

Improving metadata assists discoverability.

As part of our commitment to support librarians, the Royal Society of Chemistry is delighted to endorse Phase I recommendations of the KBART (Knowledge Bases And Related Tools) Working Group, a joint NISO/UKSG initiative that is exploring data problems within the OpenURL supply chain.

KBART’s Phase I Recommended Practice, published in January 2010, contains practical recommendations for the timely exchange of accurate metadata between content providers and knowledge base developers.

More information is available via the NISO and UKSG Press Release. Our endorsement is thanks to the hard work of Juliet Palmer, Customer Service Executive – Technical Support, in producing and updating the KBART file which is available on the RSC’s Librarians’ Portal.
