Lectureship Nominations Open for RSC Analytical Journals

26 Apr 2024

Nominations for several lectureships with the RSC’s analytical chemistry-focused journals have recently opened, and will be accepting submissions through June 14th. Analyst and JAAS (Journal of Analytical Atomic Spectrometry) both are seeking nominations for their respective Emerging Investigator awards, while Lab on a Chip has opened nominations for its Pioneers of Miniaturisation lectureship. If you know of someone who fits the criteria below and is deserving of recognition, click the images below to learn more and to nominate them for these prestigious awards before June 14th.

	Eligibility	Prize
	Have completed their Ph.D. Have published in Analyst in the past 3 years Be working in a research area within the scope of Analyst Be at an early stage of their independent career (typically this will be within 10 years of completing their PhD, but appropriate consideration will be given to those who have taken a career break or followed a different study path	Opportunity to present a lecture at a leading international meeting Up to £2,000 to cover associated travel and accommodation

We are proud to announce the publication of the first issue of RSC Pharmaceutics, a new gold open access journal focused on innovative research dedicated to advancing the fields of drug delivery, formulation and pharmaceutical technology. The inaugural issue features an opening editorial from the journal’s Editor-in-Chief, Yvonne Perrie, leading into articles covering topics ranging from nanotechnology for would healing, to methods for improving the taste of bitter drugs. Lab on a Chip Second Annual Reviews Issue

Recently, Lab on a Chip published their second annual Reviews issue, a collection of Reviews and Perspectives highlighting both long-standing and emerging areas of research at the forefront of the miniaturization research community. This year’s issue contains articles focused on nanomedicine, artificial intelligence, sensors and diagnostics, environmental science, and more.

Read the First 10th Anniversary Reflection Article in Materials Horizons

As part of celebrating their 10th anniversary, Materials Horizons will be publishing a series of Reflection articles from researchers who published during the first year of the journal’s existence. In these articles, researchers will reflect on their first publication in Materials Horizons and discuss how their published work has impacted the field at large, and how the field has progressed over the last decade.

The first of these articles how now been published from Prof. Vincent Rotello (University of Massachusetts Amherst), where he discusses his 2013 publication, “Protein coronas suppress the hemolytic activity of hydrophilic and hydrophobic nanoparticles.”

First Articles now Available from RSC Pharmaceutics

We are excited to announce that the first articles from RSC Pharmaceutics, one of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s newest journals, have recently been published. The gold open access journal is a home for papers covering emerging technologies and techniques in pharmaceutics, including drug delivery, precision medicine, and enhanced drug targeting. To celebrate the journal’s launch, all article processing charges are waived until mid-2026, allowing any author to publish open access for free.

2024 Soft Matter Lectureship Nominations are now Open

Do you know an outstanding early career researcher who has contributed significantly to the field of soft matter? If so, nominate them for the 2024 Soft Matter Lectureship for an opportunity to recognize them for their impactful research. The Lectureship recipients will each receive:

£1,000 to cover travel and accommodation costs to attend and present at a leading international meeting
An invitation to contribute an article to Soft Matter and a complimentary cover for the issue in which the article appears

Nominations are open to all researchers globally, and can be nominations can be made by anyone at any career level. Candidates must be:

An independent researcher (PhD students and postdoctoral research associates are not eligible)
Actively pursuing research within the soft matter field, and have made a significant contribution to the field
At an early stage of their independent career (this should typically be within 12 years of attaining their doctorate or equivalent degree, but appropriate consideration will be given to those who have taken a career break, work in systems where their time period to independence may vary or who followed an alternative study path)

Read the First Articles from RSC Mechanochemistry

One of the RSC’s newest journals, RSC Mechanochemistry, recently published its first articles, covering topics ranging from resonant acoustic mixing to trimerization in ball-milling conditions. The Gold Open Access is the first journal dedicated to the role of mechanochemical processes in all areas of theoretical and experimental chemistry, and will have many more exciting publications to come!

RSC Applied Interfaces First Issue

We are proud to announce the publication of the first issue of RSC Applied Interfaces, a dedicated, interdisciplinary journal for cutting-edge research on the applications of surfaces and interfaces. Introduced with an Editorial from Editor-in-Chief Federico Rosei (University of Trieste, Italy), the new Open Access journal’s first issue covers topics from nanoporous oxide electrodes to biodiesel synthesis with nitrogen-doped carbon dots.

2024 Catalysis Science & Technology Symposium – Attend In Person or Virtually

Registration is now open for the upcoming 2024 Catalysis Science & Technology Symposium, on April 3rd, 2024. This one-day hybrid event will be held both in person and virtually in Burlington House in London, and will feature speakers from across the many areas of catalysis, highlight several RSC Editorial Board members and a number of outstanding early career researchers.

The event will feature invited research talks, including Catalysis Science & Technology Associate Editor Will Medlin (University of Colorado Boulder), as well as many other impactful speakers (and more to be announced soon). The program also includes a poster session, for which submissions are now open.
