We would like to sincerely congratulate Eric Appel, who was recently announced as the recipient of the 2023 Biomaterials Science Lectureship!
Eric is an Associate Professor of Materials Science & Engineering at Stanford University, where he works on the development of biomaterials for understanding fundamental biological processes and engineering advanced healthcare solutions.
The lectureship honors an early-career researcher who has made significant contributions to the field of biomaterials, and is selected by the Editoral Board of Biomaterials Science from a list of candidates nominated by the research community. The award recipient receives £1,000 to cover travel an accommodation to attend and present at an international meeting, as well as an invitation to contribute an article to Biomaterials Science with a complimentary cover for the issue the article appears in.
