Nanoscale‘s newest Associate Editor Professor Xiao Cheng Zeng and collaborators in the US and China have reported a novel nanopore which has similar selective ion transport properties as the potassium ion channels found in nature. The work reported in Nature Communications could have potential applications in desalination technology or drug delivery.
