Professor John Fenn passed away on Friday December 10 at the age of 93. Professor Fenn received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2002 for his work in electrospray ionization, and he remained a mainstay at scientific conferences and an active researcher well into his 90’s. Professor Fenn was also an active mentor and friend to younger scientists and went out of his way to encourage students in their scientific pursuits-particularly in teaching pursuits.
