The 13th International Conference on Chemical Kinetics (ICCK)

The 13th International Conference on Chemical Kinetics (ICCK) is being held this year at Granlibakken Tahoe Resort in Tahoe City, California June 8-13, 2025. The 13th ICCK will concentrate on the multifaceted role of chemical kinetics as an enabling discipline. Chemical kinetics guides our description of chemical transformations in the Earth environment and beyond, enables discovering, characterizing, and controlling reactions from biological systems to combustion to catalytic transformations, and helps develop affordable, reliable, and secure energy technologies.

The International Conference on Chemical Kinetics (ICCK) brings together investigators from universities, research laboratories, and industrial organizations to review progress and problems in modeling, theory and experiment related to chemical kinetics. This cross-disciplinary meeting highlights the importance of fundamental understanding of elementary reactions to a full range of chemical investigations and the central role of chemical kinetics in addressing critical technological and environmental issues. The ICCK meetings provide a unique forum to discuss how the same reactive species and reaction motifs manifest under very different reaction conditions (e.g., atmospheric, aqueous, combustion, plasma, in nonaqueous solvents, and on surfaces).

In recent years, ICCK was held in Hefei (2023), Orléans (2019), Chicago (2017), Ghent (2015), Seville (2013), and Boston (2011). The 13th ICCK in 2025 will concentrate on the multifaceted role of chemical kinetics as an enabling discipline. Chemical kinetics guides our description of chemical transformations in the Earth environment and beyond, enables discovering, characterizing, and controlling reactions from biological systems to combustion to catalytic transformations, and helps develop affordable, reliable, and secure energy technologies.

PCCP Prize winners selected for the 102nd Chemical Society of Japan Annual Meeting

To celebrate the Chemical Society of Japan Annual Meeting, the RSC and the CSJ have partnered to select, commend and celebrate the outstanding achievements of young scientists in the community.

We are delighted to announce that the 2022 winners of the PCCP Prize for Outstanding Achievement of Young Scientists in Physical Chemistry and Chemical Physics were:

“Nonadiabatic Dynamics in Photochemical Reaction Studied by Ultrafast Photoelectron Spectroscopy”

The Chemical Society of Japan, originally established in 1848 as the Chemical Society, has a membership of 27,000, amongst which are 11 Nobel Laureates.

13th Chemical Physics Congress Conference

The 13^th Chemical Physics Congress will take place at Elazig (Harput), Turkey on 15-16 October 2020 on a UNESCO World Heritage Village (more information about the old city Harput is here).

The 11th conference on Isolated Biomolecules and Biomolecular Interactions (IBBI) will take place from 19-24 April 2020 in Bad Duerkheim, Germany. 2018 PCCP Emerging Investigator Lectureship winner Debashree Ghosh – to present and receive award at APATCC 2019

The 29th biennial meeting of the Institute of Physics Polymer Physics Group

The 29th biennial meeting of the Institute of Physics Polymer Physics Group will take place from 11-13 September 2019 at the University of Lincoln, UK. The early registration deadline is 19 July 2019 and poster abstract submission will remain open until 23 August 2019.

The Founders’ Prize lecture will be given by Masao Doi (Beihang University, China), and the invited speakers (confirmed) are Rachel Evans (Cambridge, UK), Marie-Pierre Laborie (Freiburg, Germany), Juan de Pablo (Chicago, USA) and James Sharp (Nottingham, UK).

The 9th Molecular Quantum Mechanics conference (MQM19) to be held in Heidelberg Germany from June 30^th to July 5^th, 2019.

The MQM 2019 in Germany will be held in honor of Prof. Werner Kutzelnigg, Prof. Wilfried Meyer and Prof. Sigrid Peyerimhoff and in memory of Prof. Reinhart Ahlrichs. All of these four outstanding scientists have made seminal contributions to the field of electronic structure theory, in particularly to the understanding of electron correlation phenomena and in the development of new and powerful approximation methods in this area.

Horizons in Hydrogen Bond Research (HBOND2019), 24 – 27 September 2019, Amsterdam

HBOND2019 is the 23rd edition of the premier international conference on “Horizons in Hydrogen Bond Research” and will be taking place 24 – 27 September 2019 in Amsterdam. It gathers scientists from all over the world working in the field of hydrogen bonding research, from weak to strong interactions, studied in virtually all states of matter by a multitude of experimental and theoretical methods.

The conference will be preceded by a Young Researchers Symposium. This event on Monday, 23 September 2019 is organized by and for PhD students, and gives them the opportunity to present their research to their peers and to the participants of the main event.

Celebrating 20 years of society collaboration in physical chemistry and chemical physics

We are proud to announce that PCCP is holding a symposium at the 7th EuCheMS Chemistry Congress on Monday 27th August entitled: “Celebrating 20 years of society collaboration in physical chemistry and chemical physics”. Join us at this special one-day symposium to mark volume 20 of PCCP being published, which aims to celebrate and encourage collaboration between nations across the physical chemistry and chemical physics community.

This unique event will feature scientific talks from distinguished PCCP Editorial Board members and the recipient of the 2017 PCCP Emerging Investigator Lectureship, Professor Ryan Steele (University of Utah), covering a variety of topics that reflect journal’s broad scope. The symposium also includes a panel discussion, led by the Chair of the PCCP Ownership Board, Dr Lene Hviid (Shell) on the importance and value of collaboration in the physical chemistry community for the benefit of research and individual careers.

The symposium will be led by Professor Seong Keun Kim, the Chair of PCCP and Dr Katie Lim, PCCP Executive Editor.
