RSC US University Roadshow Starts Today!

The RSC US University Roadshow kicks off today at the University of California – Irvine. Over the week, we will be visiting four universities in California:

April 16th – University of California Irvine
April 17th – University of California Los Angeles
April 18th – University of California Santa Barbara
April 20th – University of California Berkeley

At each University, Books Commissioning Editors, Janet Freshwater and Merlin Fox will be on hand to show you RSC’s apps on mobile devices and talk about our newest books. Join them for lunch and debate the reading habits in the 21st Century. And find out more from Managing Editor Sarah Ruthven about the world of scholarly publishing, with tips on how to get published in high impact journals.

Crystal Forms@Bologna Workshop

The 6th Workshop on Crystal Forms will be held in Bologna from the 19th to 21st January 2012. The workshop will bring together scientists from industry and academia to discuss the issues at the forefront of this growing field of research from crystal structure prediction, crystal engineering, synthesis of new crystal forms, polymorphs, solvates and co-crystals screening to the intellectual property issues of interest to pharma companies.

It addresses future developments in carbon capture and utilization, H2 production and purification and O2/N2 separation. Topics covered include: applications of membrane gas separation in the petrochemical industry, implementation of membrane processes for post-combustion capture, commercial applications of membranes in gas separations, simulation of membrane systems for CO2 capture, design and development of membrane reactors for industrial applications, Pd-based membranes in hydrogen production and purification, novel hybrid membrane/pressure swing adsorption process for gas separation, molecular dynamics as a new tool for membrane design and the physical aging of membranes for gas separations.
