We are excited to announce a new showcase collection entitled ‘Energy Frontiers: Hydrogen‘ to highlight the latest cutting-edge research on hydrogen technologies for a more sustainable future, including hydrogen production, storage, decarbonisation, scale-up and more. Join us for our related LiveStream session on this topic on 15th November 2022!

The collection spans many RSC journals publishing high quality energy content, including Energy Advances, Energy & Environmental Science, Sustainable Energy & Fuels, Journal of Materials Chemistry A, Chemical Society Reviews, Chemical Science.

It is expected that the use of Hydrogen will contribute significantly to the decarbonisation of the energy sector, and many Hydrogen production routes (like water electrolysis) are renewable and low-carbon. There are many challenges associated with widespread implementation of Hydrogen technologies however, meaning that continued research and innovation into this topic is as important as ever.

We are delighted to see that Professor Volker Presser, Editor-in-Chief of Energy Advances, has recently been awarded the prestigious Zhaowu Tian Prize for Energy Electrochemistry for 2022 by the International Society of Electrochemistry. Huge congratulations to Professor Presser!

Energy Advances proudly sponsored the 2^nd international MXene Conference held at Drexel University, US, at the start of August over three days. The conference aimed to showcase major MXene discoveries while bringing the technological potential of MXenes to the attention of industries, federal and state governments, funding agencies, and decision-makers.

The event was also attended by Editorial Board Member and Associate Editor Professor Michael Naguib, one of the inventors of MXenes. “As the MXenes community continues to grow, it was timely and necessary to get together and discuss challenges and opportunities for MXenes in several fields, including energy” explains Professor Naguib. “This will help to establish a roadmap for MXenes research in the coming years.”

We are very pleased to announce that Anita Ho-Baillie (University of Sydney, Australia) has joined the Energy Advances team as an Associate Editor.

Anita Ho-Baillie is the John Hooke Chair of Nanoscience at the University of Sydney, an Australian Research Council Future Fellow, and an Adjunct Professor at the University of New South Wales. She is a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher from 2019 and 2021.

Her research is on solar photovoltaic materials and devices including single junctions and multi-junction tandems.

She has been named the leader in Sustainable Energy Research in 2021 by the Australian Newspaper Annual Research Magazine. She is also an Australian Museum Eureka Prize Finalist in 2021.
