Welcome to Issue 2 of Organic Chemistry Frontiers in 2017

Welcome to issue 2 of Organic Chemistry Frontiers for 2017 ! The latest OrgChemFront issue is published online now.

The  front cover story,  Aerobic copper catalyzed α-oxyacylation of ketones with carboxylic acids is contributed by Xin Huang, Xiao Liang, Jun Yuan, Zhangqin Ni, Yifeng Zhou and Yuanjiang Pan. The inside cover features a story on Natural diarylfluorene derivatives: isolation, total synthesis, and phosphodiesterase-4 inhibition by Sheng Yin and his co-authors.

See ‘Recent applications of Cp2TiCl in natural product synthesis’ (Org. Chem. Front., 2014, 1, 15-33)

Catalysis serves as a powerful tool for chemical bonds transformation, asymmetric induction, and more importantly for achieving increased structural complexity in fewer synthetic steps. Over the past decade, stunning advances in catalytic methods like photoredox catalysis, organocatalysis and transition-metal mediated catalysis etc. have revolutionised the ways in preparing architecturally complex natural products and natural-product-like structures.

With the rapid development of catalytic methods as well as their growing impact in natural product synthesis, we wish this web collection could offer colleagues a platform to showcase their most exciting researches, highlighting at the same time the state-of-the-art and current limitations in this field.

Research articles, Reviews and Highlights will be considered for publication. Submissions will be subject to normal peer review. Accepted articles will be published and included into recent journal issues without delay to permit the timely dissemination of the work.

Please note in “comments to the editors” field in the online submission system if your manuscript is dedicated to this themed collection.
