Congratulations to Professor Yi Xie for being honoured the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Award!

“As the International Year of Light celebrates science and knowledge all over the world, the L’Oréal Foundation and UNESCO will present, on March 18th, the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Awards to five outstanding women scientists and 15 grants to promising young researchers. Each of these women is a brilliant example of scientific excellence. They prove everyday that women can greatly contribute to scientific progress in a field still largely dominated by men.”

This year’s 5 Laureates of the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Awards are being honored for their ground-breaking discoveries in the physical sciences. By studying the infinitely large to the infinitely small, they have pushed back the frontiers of knowledge to explain the most fundamental questions of the universe and contribute to solving some of today’s greatest challenges. Passionate in life as much as in their work, they are also committed to giving back to their communities and transmitting their love of science.

Congratulations to poster prize winners at the 10th International Symposium for Chinese Inorganic Chemists

The 10th International Symposium for Chinese Inorganic Chemists (ISCIC-10) was successfully held in Xiamen University on 19-20 December 2014. This conference was joined together with the 13th International Symposium for Chinese Organic Chemists (ISCOC-13), providing an invaluable platform for Chinese chemists to exchange their scientific finding, cultivate mutual understandings, and foster possible collaborations.

Inorganic Chemistry Frontiers Poster Prizes Awarded at the 6th Catalysis and Sensing for our Environment (CASE) network meeting at Xiamen University

The 6th Catalysis and Sensing for our Environment (CASE) network meeting was held at Xiamen University from 7-9th November 2014 and hosted by Yun-Bao Jiang (Dean of the College of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering at Xiamen University). http://case2014.wordpress.com/

The Catalysis and Sensing for our Environment (CASE) network was founded by Tony James, Steven Bull and John Fossey at the University of Bath in 2008. These annual research meetings have been held in Bath (UK, 2008) ECUST (Shanghai, 2009), the University of Birmingham (UK, 2011), SIOC (Shanghai, 2012) and the University of Texas at Austin (USA, 2013).

The CASE symposia have proven to be hot beds for collaborative discussion with numerous papers and successful funding applications resulting from the interactions initiated through the networking opportunities provided by these meetings.

Three Poster Prizes of ¥500 and Certificate from Inorganic Chemistry Frontiers were awarded by Daping Zhang the Executive Editor of Inorganic Chemistry Frontiers.

The 9th conference will be hosted by Leyong Wang in 2017 at Nanjing University.

We are delighted to announce a new themed collection to be published in 2015 on Inorganic Chemistry Frontiers:


Molecular Magnetism

Deadline: 31 May 2015


Guest Editors: Hitoshi Miyasaka (Tohoku University) and Lapo Bogani (Universität Stuttgart)

This themed collection is dedicated to highlighting recent important progresses on synthesis, theoretical investigations, property studies and potential applications of molecular-based magnets. All types of manuscripts — Research articles, Reviews and Chemistry Frontiers will be considered for publication. Submissions will be subject to normal peer review. Accepted articles will be published and included into recent journal issues without delay to permit the timely dissemination of the work.
