New Chips and Tips blog

Lab on a Chip’s Chips and Tips has a new home!

Chips and Tips is a unique and regularly updated forum for scientists in the miniaturisation field which aims to provide a place where ideas and solutions can be exchanged on common practical problems encountered in the lab, which are seldom reported in the literature.

So far we have published over 50 Tips to make miniaturisation easier and we hope that the new blog will provide an even better forum for discussions and ideas to be exchanged.

Why not take a look at our shiny new blog today!

How much time it takes for publishing a tip in this forum?

  2. Francesca Burgoyne says:

We aim to have Tips published within a month of acceptance. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

  3. Sopan says:

    Thank you for information.

  4. Sopan says:

Can I cite the tips from this blog, if yes then where is other information like volume, page etc? How do I know, if my tip has been cited?

  5. Francesca Burgoyne says:

The Tips from the blog may be cited using the date and URL, but they do not have volume or page numbers as they are intended as community supplementary information. The Tips are not published as articles in Lab on a Chip.

  6. Dongping Qi says:

How to find old published Tips? I mean if there is an archive like resource to locate previuos Tips.

  7. Francesca Burgoyne says:

    Dear Dongping,

An archive of our previously published Tips can be found at If you scroll down to the Archive section on the right-hand side of the page you will be able view to old posts by month.

    I hope that helps.

  8. Dongping says:

Oops, I did not realize the archive section was there already. I have a feeling that Chips and Tips could develop or grow into a high quality technology note like publication. Sure, it depends on contributions of this community.

Not to worry. Thanks for your suggestion – we are working on some exciting new developments for Chips & Tips, so watch this space!
