Themed Collection: “Improving All-Solid-State Batteries through Atomistic Modelling” from Energy Advances

We invite you to contribute to our collection highlighting atomistic modelling methods for the discovery and advancement of materials used in Li-ion and post-lithium (Na/K/Mg-ion) all-solid-state batteries. Authors may choose from a wide range of techniques, including electronic structure theory and Density Functional Theory (DFT) to machine-learned (ML) and empirical interatomic potentials, combined with crystal structure predictions. These methods can be used to accelerate discovery of novel materials, such as electrodes and solid electrolytes, protective layers coated with atomic-layer deposition (ALD), plasma-layer deposition (PLD) or similar techniques, as well as to analyse various microscopic properties of these materials and their interfaces. We particularly look forward to the submission of manuscripts that present a collaborative work with experimentalists. For more information on the collection, which closes for submissions on 12th January 2025, see our open call for papers.

Why publish with Energy Advances?

  • Rapid times to publication – our average time to decision for peer-reviewed manuscripts is just 41 days.
  • Expert Associate Editors (Volker Presser, Michael Naguib, Guang Feng, You Han, Wai-Yeung (Raymond) Wong, Layla Mehdi, Matthew Suss) handling the peer review of submissions.
  • Flexible articles types with no word count restrictions and no colour charges.
  • Maximum visibility – We are indexed in Web of Science (ESCI), Scopus, Directory of Open Access Journals and our content is fully discoverable in ResearchGate and Google Scholar.
  • Promotion of your work through our journal social media (@RSC_Energyhttps://rsc.li/Energy_showcase).

Energy Advances focuses on the broad topic of energy science. The journal welcomes research from all related disciplines, including materials science, chemistry, physics, technology, engineering and biosciences. We embrace exciting energy science research, from central concepts to research at the nexus of sub-disciplines, where boundaries are crossed, and communities collaborate to inspire new thinking.

Article publication online and in issues will occur without delay to ensure the timely dissemination of the work. The articles will then be assembled on the RSC Publishing platform and promoted as a web-based thematic collection, to permit readers to consult and download individual contributions from the entire series.

If you’re interested, we invite you to submit your research today, quoting ‘YABatt24’ when submitting your manuscript.
