Announcing RSC Sustainability’s themed collection: Chemical Education for Global Sustainability

RSC Sustainability is excited to announce the launch of our latest themed collection, Chemical Education for Global Sustainability, which is now open for submissions.

Chemical education is key to tackling global sustainability challenges. This themed collection explores ways to integrate sustainability into chemistry curricula, professional development and beyond, ensuring inclusive, expert-led learning communities that support the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Guest Edited by Professor Helen Drummond (North-West University, South Africa), Professor Marietjie Potgieter (University of Pretoria, South Africa), Professor Gildo Girotto Junior (UNICAMP, Brazil) and Dr Juliana Vidal (Beyond Benign), this themed collection welcomes global content, with particular emphasis on attracting contributions from Africa and South America.

Topics for this collection may include, but are not limited to:

  • Articles describing new and innovative teaching activities, pedagogies, and laboratory experiments that address one or more of the UN SDGs for secondary and higher education.
  • Articles on scientific outreach focusing on sustainability and green chemistry topics.
  • Articles on inclusion and diversity with a focus on sustainability and green chemistry.
