Charge & Substrate Transport in 3D Electrocatalytic Materials, ACS Fall Meeting

RSC Adavances along with RSC journals Chemical Science, Energy & Environmental Science, Sustainable Energy & Fuels and Nanoscale Advances are pleased to be sponsoring the Charge & Substrate Transport in 3D Electrocatalytic Materials symposium at the ACS Fall 2019 National Meeting and Exposition in San Diego this August. It will be held at 8:30 am on Tuesday 27th in the Marina Ballroom Salon G at Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina.

Organized by Anthony Hall, Charles McCrory and V. Centre for Plastic Electronics Annual Symposium 2019, 10-11 June 2019, Imperial College London, #CPESymp19

The Centre for Plastic Electronics is hosting its prestigious annual symposium on 10 and 11 June 2019. It will take place at Imperial College London and has already attracted several high-profile speakers to discuss their latest advances in the science and technology of organic conducting materials and of organic/flexible electronics and photonics. The program includes a day of short talks and poster presentations by students and early career scientists giving them a platform to highlight their recent work.

Prof Erwin Reisner of the University of Cambridge will be giving his RSC Corday-Morgan Prize talk for his work on the development of solar-driven catalysis with molecularly engineered semiconductors and semi-artificial photosynthesis.

The symposium will cover all areas related to organic/plastic electronics and photonics, including chemistry, physics, materials science and device engineering. Confirmed speakers include:

The (SFN) 7th Solar Fuel Network Symposium and Post-graduate Morning was held in Cambridge, United Kingdom on 28 – 29 March 2019.

Energy & Environmental Science (EES) and Sustainable Energy & Fuels (SEF) sponsored the poster prizes and these were awarded to the below:-

Both poster prizes were presented to the winners by the Royal Society of Chemistry’s, Carri Cotton. The EES prize was awarded to Hui Luo and the SEF was awarded to Alexander Kibler.

International Conference on Renewable Energy (ICREN 2019)

International Conference on Renewable Energy (ICREN 2019) will be held in Unesco, Paris on 24th to 26th April 2019.

The main topics will include:- Renewable Energy technologies – solar, wind, wave, tidal, geothermal, bioenergy, hydropower – Energy storage concepts and materials – Renewable energy integrations and energy networks – Innovation in energy efficiency and architecture – Energy access, gender and development – Economics social and environmental and policy aspects and Energy and climate change.

The target of ICREN2019 is to attract the best articles and experts from all around the world. Introducing Sustainable Energy & Fuels Associate Editor: Annamaria Petrozza

Annamaria Petrozza, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), Italy

Annamaria Petrozza is a Tenured Senior Scientist at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT). She was awarded a Master of Science degree in Electronic Engineering at Ecole Supèrieure d’Electricité (Paris, France) in 2003 and at Politecnico di Milano in 2014 under the T.I.M.E. (Top Industrial Manager in Europe) program. In 2008 she received her PhD in Physics from the University of Cambridge (Cambridge, UK) with a thesis on the study of optoelectronic processes at organic and hybrid semiconductors interfaces, under the supervision of Prof J.S Kim and Prof Sir R.H. Friend. From 2008 to 2009 she worked as staff scientist at the Sharp Laboratories of Europe, Ltd (Oxford, UK) on the development of new market competitive solar cell technologies. In 2010 she joined the newly founded Center for Nano Science and Technology (CNST) of IIT in Milan. Since 2013 she leads the “Advanced Materials for Optoelectronics” Research Line at CNST. Her research is focused on the development of new, sustainable, optoelectronic technologies which can be extensively integrated in the everyday life. She is an expert in solution processable semiconductors and in time-resolved optical spectroscopy. Her studies mainly aims to shed light on interfacial optoelectronic mechanisms, which are fundamental for the optimization of operational processes, with the goal of improving device efficiency and stability. She got the “Innovators Under 35 Italy 2014” award by the MIT Technology Review for her pioneering work on perovskites. She is a 2017 ERCcoG grantee.

RSC Journal Symposium: Frontiers of catalysis and photocatalysis for energy chemistry

RSC Journal symposium: Frontiers of catalysis and photocatalysis for energy chemistry took place on Wednesday and Friday, 23rd and 25th January 2019 at University Tokyo and Kyoto University with Professor Kazunari Domen and Professor Ryu Abe as our local host.

We had over 170 delegates join our event across the two venues, with many participants from 19 various universities, 5 research institutes and 7 companies.

Our international speakers were James Durrant, Sustainable Energy & Fuels, Kyung Byung Yoon, Energy & Environmental Science, Magda Titirici Journal of Materials Chemistry A and Katie Lim, Executive Editor, Sustainable Energy & Fuels and Energy & Environmental Science.

Unfortunately Jinhua Ye could not attend the Symposium but Professor Kazuya Yamaguchi of University Tokyo kindly spoke in her absence at very short notice.
