RSC Journal Symposium: Frontiers of catalysis and photocatalysis for energy chemistry

RSC Journal symposium: Frontiers of catalysis and photocatalysis for energy chemistry took place on Wednesday and Friday, 23rd and 25th January 2019 at University Tokyo and Kyoto University with Professor Kazunari Domen and Professor Ryu Abe as our local host.

We had over 170 delegates join our event across the two venues, with many participants from 19 various universities, 5 research institutes and 7 companies.

Our international speakers were James Durrant, Sustainable Energy & Fuels, Kyung Byung Yoon, Energy & Environmental Science, Magda Titirici Journal of Materials Chemistry A and Katie Lim, Executive Editor, Sustainable Energy & Fuels and Energy & Environmental Science.

Unfortunately Jinhua Ye could not attend the Symposium but Professor Kazuya Yamaguchi of University Tokyo kindly spoke in her absence at very short notice.

International Conference on Renewable Energy (ICREN 2018)

The International Conference on Renewable Energy (ICREN 2018) will be taking place between 25-27 April 2018 in Barcelona. The Royal Society of Chemistry journals Energy & Environmental Science, Sustainable Energy & Fuels and Molecular Systems Design & Engineering are delighted to be supporting the event.

The 11th Aseanian Conference on Nano-Hybrid Solar Cells (NHSC11) took place in Himeji, Japan from 8-10 October 2017. ES01 & ES02 Symposia at the 2017 MRS Fall Meeting

The 2017 MRS Fall Meeting is taking place in Boston, MA, USA between 26 November-1 December. The Royal Society of Chemistry is partnering with the Materials Research Society to sponsor two of the meeting’s Energy and Sustainability symposia:

  • ES01: Perovskite Materials and Devices—Progress and Challenges
  • ES02: On the Way to Sustainable Solar Fuels—New Concepts, Materials and System Integration

RSC journals Energy & Environmental Science and Sustainable Energy & Fuels will each be awarding prizes to the best abstracts at both ES01 and ES02 symposia, while Journal of Materials Chemistry A will join both in sponsoring an award for ES01 and offering a 1-year subscription to the winners.

NENCS 2017 Poster Prize Winners!

The International Symposium on Novel Energy Nanomaterials, Catalysts and Surfaces for Future Earth took place in Tokyo, Japan between 28-30 October.

The international symposium was inspired in response to growing calls for a scientific platform for the global community of researchers active in materials research, characterization/imaging with synchrotron radiation in situ/operando XAFS, and X-ray based techniques (CT, TXM, AP-HAXPES, RIXS, XRD, etc.), to meet, share, and discuss their latest discoveries in these critical and rapidly evolving disciplines.

The Royal Society of Chemistry sponsored the event by providing poster prizes to a selection of the winning abstract submissions. The winners of the RSC poster prizes were:

The University of Electro-Communications (UEC), Tokyo, Japan, will host the International Symposium on Novel Energy Nanomaterials, Catalysts and Surfaces for Future Earth (NENCS) between the 28-30 October 2017. The symposium will provide a scientific platform for the global community of researchers active in materials research, characterization/imaging with synchrotron radiation in situ/operando XAFS, and X-ray based techniques.
