On the cover: DNP-NMR to study entire metabolic pathways in live yeast cells

On the inside front cover of Issue 19 an article from Sebastian Meier and Jens Ø. Duus from the Carlsberg Laboratory, Denmark is highlighted.  They have used DNP-NMR to study entire metabolic pathways in living yeast cells, with real time visualisation. Glucose and fructose signals were enhanced by a methodology called DNP and injected into cell suspensions, circumventing the need for chemically introduced reporter groups or metabolite extraction, and allowing studies of cellular metabolism in a more realistic, undisturbed environment.

This hot cover article is free to download for the next 6 weeks – so why not take a look?
