The 11th Chinese Analytical Chemistry Annual Meeting Held in Qingdao

The 11th Chinese Analytical Chemistry Annual Meeting was held on October 26-29, 2012, at Qingdao International Convention Center. This is the most important professional meeting on Analytical Chemistry in China, which is held once every three years. The meeting was sponsored by the Chinese Chemical Society, the Chinese Spectroscopy Society and the Geological Society of China, and was organized by Qingdao University of Science & Technology and Linyi University.

The Chairman was Prof. Erkang Wang (Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, CAS), and the Vice Chairmen were Prof. Hongyuan Chen (Academician of CAS), Prof. Zhifang Chai (Academician of CAS), Prof. Ruqin Yu (Academician of CAS), Prof. Shouzhuo Yao (Academician of CAS), Prof. Jincai Zhao (Academician of CAS), Prof. Yukui Zhang (Academician of CAS), Prof. Guibin Jiang (Academician of CAS), Prof. Shaojun Dong (Academician of CAS), Prof. Guofang Pang (Academician of CAS). The Symposium Science Committee was composed of 108 professors. The Organizing Committee was chaired by Prof. Kui Jiao, and the Vice Chairmen were Prof. Qiankun Zhuang, Prof. Xiurong Yang, Prof. Hangting Chen, and Prof. Shusheng Zhang.

More than 1500 people from 200 units including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Chinese Academy of Sciences, various universities and companies attended the meeting. The meeting comprised 1148 papers and 232 poster presentations. There were 9 different sessions: Atomic Spectroscopy, Molecular Spectroscopy and Spectrum Analysis, Electroanalysis, Nanoscience-based Analysis, Biochemistry Analysis, Chromatography, New Analytical Instruments, Youth Forum and National Fund Forum. The meeting accommodated 13 plenary lectures, 219 invited lectures and 104 oral presentations. This conference has provided an opportunity for the academic exchange, and will promote the development of Analytical Chemistry in China.
