Annual Spring Meeting of the British Crystallographic Association

The British Crystallographic Association is delighted to announce that their annual BCA Spring Meeting will be held at the University of Warwick from 26th until the 29th March 2018. An extensive programme covering biological, chemical, physical and industrial applications of crystallography is planned, with diverse sessions on topics including membrane proteins and complexes, time-resolved crystallography, molecular machines and rotaxanes, perovskites and electron diffraction.  Plenary speakers will include Professors Eleanor Dodson (York), Bill Clegg (Newcastle), Ilme Schlichting (Heidelberg), Susan Reutzel-Edens (Eli Lilley) and Nicola Spaldin (ETH Zurich). Opportunities for both poster and oral presentations are available, the deadline for abstract submission is 26th January 2018. Submissions from early career crystallographers are especially welcome. This an excellent opportunity to showcase your work to a national and global audience.

Molecular Photophysics Conference II

Faraday Discussions is pleased to support the Molecular Photophysics Conference II on 10 October 2017. The meeting will cover both experimental and theoretical aspects of the photophysical properties of organic and inorganic compounds and materials with a main focus on topics such as luminescence, nonradiative transitions, light-induced electron transfer, electronic energy transfer and photochemical energy conversion.

The main aim of the meeting is bring together researchers at differen tlevels of their career from academia as well as industry, and to stimulate cooperation and collaboration between research laboratories working in the area of molecular photophysics and to promote new applications for the research. This year the speakers include:

  • Richard Cogdell (Glasgow University)
  • Zhiji Han (University og Newcastle)
  • Anita C. Jones (University of Edinburgh)
  • Anthony Harriman (University of Newcastle)
